Programmes
Each programme addresses a distinct need. Taken together, they address the same one.
We strengthen foundations. A foundation is that upon which everything else rests; where a foundation is weak, what rests upon it is at risk. Our work here consists of identifying which is which.
Many good things stop for no particular reason. This programme exists so that they do not stop, or, where they have already stopped, so that the fact of their stopping is recorded.
Being near. Not near to something in particular; near in general. Distance is measured internally and is not comparable between cases.
Support that is not announced. For reasons of dignity we do not describe the recipients, the amounts, the timing, the countries, the outcomes, or the criteria. We can confirm that the programme exists.
Preparation for events that have not occurred. Success in this programme is indistinguishable from the absence of the programme, which is why we report on it annually.
A programme concerned with learning from the other five. Its findings are fed back into the other five, which in turn inform the next cycle of reflection.
On applications. We do not accept unsolicited applications and do not operate an open intake. If your initiative fits one of our programmes, we most likely already know of it. If we do not, knowledge will arrive in due course.
